Internship abroad in Denia, Spain
- Categories EXPERIENCES OF OUR LANGUAGE STUDENTS

Palm trees, the sea and the Mediterranean lifestyle are often associated with summer and the high season. However, my internship abroad in Denia took place at a completely different time – from the end of September to the end of January. Looking back, that was exactly the right decision.
My name is Anna, I come from near Cologne and I study multilingual communication in Spanish, English and German at the Technical University of Cologne.
My degree programme includes an internship abroad, which is recommended in the study plan after the standard period of study in the winter semester. Even though the timing is flexible, I deliberately chose this period – and Denia proved to be the ideal location.
From personal connection to the right language school
I lived in Denia for three years and completed my secondary education at a Spanish school before returning to Germany to take my A-levels and go to university. So the city is not an unfamiliar place to me, but somewhere I have had close ties with for many years. The Spanish language also continues to accompany me through my studies.
When it came to finding a suitable location for my internship abroad in Spain, it quickly became clear that Denia was the place for me. The city had held a special significance for me for years, which is why I could easily imagine doing my internship right here.
While searching for a suitable internship, I finally came across TLCdénia – more specifically, through a blog post by a former intern. The experience report gave me an authentic insight into everyday life at the language school and quickly showed me that TLCdénia was a perfect fit for my studies and interests.
Internship abroad in Denia at TLCdénia: My responsibilities
During my internship abroad in marketing in Dénia, I was part of the marketing department at TLCdénia for several months. The language school has an international focus and worked with language students from many different countries – an exciting environment that perfectly matched my studies in multilingual communication.
I was actively involved in various areas of marketing and was able to take on tasks independently. These included, among other things:
- Creation and revision of texts as well as translations in German, Spanish and English
- Collaboration on blog articles and website content
- Support with planning and implementing social media content
- Design and adaptation of marketing materials
- Insights into communicating with international language students
The direct contact with the language students was particularly enjoyable. I was able to take part in various activities, such as wine tastings, tapas afternoons and trips to the market hall in Denia with the younger students.
These experiences not only gave me an authentic insight into life and learning in Denia, but also showed me how important the interplay between teaching, culture and community is at TLCdénia.
Learn Spanish in Spain – Language in real everyday life
A major advantage of my internship at a language school in Dénia was the daily contact with the Spanish language. I was able to further improve my Spanish not only at work, but also in my private life. Conversations with my colleagues, encounters with language students and life in the city significantly strengthened my language skills.
After work, there was time for walks along the sea, quiet cafés and a completely different attitude to life than in the summer months. Denia in winter is relaxed, authentic and less touristy – ideal for concentrating on work, language and personal development.
My conclusion about the internship abroad | 4 months in Denia
My internship abroad during the winter semester in Denia at TLCdénia was a very enriching experience, both professionally and personally. The combination of Marketing tasks, an international working environment and life in Dénia outside the high season have given me valuable insights into the work of a language school.
During my internship, I was closely involved in the work of the marketing team. I was actively involved, able to take on my own tasks and experience everyday working life in an international team. The interaction with colleagues and language students made the internship particularly varied and practical.
If you are looking for an internship in Denia, a marketing internship at a language school or practical experience in an international environment, TLCdénia offers ideal conditions even outside the summer months.
