PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION:
Denia is an ideal location for juniors because it is very safe and perfect to immerse in the Spanish language and culture, and have fun taking part in our social, cultural and sports activities.
This is a dynamic programme adapted to the needs of the group of children or teenagers and it focuses mainly on increasing the student’s confidence when using the target language. By incorporating all four of the language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing) into the class we allow for each student to receive a well-rounded education.
During the afternoon, after eating at home, students participate in daily activities with an activity leader of the school. We offer many different activities, including games at the beach, hiking, snorkeling, cultural visits, etc. during weekdays, and some day-excursions on the weekends, such as visiting Valencia, Altea, water parks, among others, etc.
We also organize Italian school groups with the P.C.T.O. program “Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e per l’Orientamento“ (formerly known as “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro (ASL)“) with different combinations: Spanish course, company visits, professional workshops with experts.

ACCOMMODATION IN A HOST FAMILY OR IN A HOTEL:
The homestay accommodation is with carefully selected host families who not only treat the students as if they were their own children, but who have also had previous experience with foreign youngsters and who are very committed to practicing the language being learnt. The school regularly reviews how the children are being treated and the conditions in which they are staying, ensuring the most successful trip possible. Our selected host families live less tan 10 minutes on foot from the school. Before arriving, the students will receive a description of the family and the house.
If the group prefers to be accommodated in a hotel, it is also posible. We partner with a hotel which is close to the school, to the beach and city centre.
THE STANDARD PROGRAMME INCLUDES:
- 20 Spanish lessons per week
- Full-board accommodation with a Spanish host family in double/triple room or in a hotel.
- Arrival on Sunday, departure on Saturday
- Group leaders: 1, 2 or 3 depending on number of students.
- Transfer from Alicante or Valencia airports (Between 9:00am and 10:00pm)

A COMPLETE ACTIVITIES PLAN:
We organize daily activities for school groups and excursions depending on the needs of each group. We combine the intensive Spanish language courses with a full schedule of sports and leisure activities, making this trip a great time for the students. These are always supervised by an experienced professional.
DAILY ACTIVITIES:
Cultural visits: Denia’s castle, museums, local and street markets.
Gastronomy: our student taste local food like such as “tapas”, “paella”, or “chocolate con churros”. Also, we organize cooking courses.
Hiking: “Las Rotas” beach, visit to a cave or Natural Park “El Montgó”.
Water sports: paddle surf and kayaking.
Beach Volleyball and social meetings
Workshops: cinema, Spanish culture or cuisine.
Salsa lessons
Games on the beach.
Social surveys: Conducting surveys of inhabitants on topics of interest to better understand the culture and interact with the population.
Participation in local festivals that take place in the city: (fallas, Moors and Christians, street show, floats, etc.).
Excursions: Valencia, Castell de Guadalest, Fuentes del Algar, Altea, Waterpark and Theme Park in Benidorm, boat trips, and others.

Guided tour of the historic center, visit to the City of Arts and Sciences and entry to the Oceanographic, the largest aquarium in Europe.

COURSE STARTING DATES:
This programme takes place all year round. Students can start any Sunday (booking in advance).
COURSE METHODOLOGY:
The basis of our methodology is communication. Our objective is that the student will be able to use the new knowledge in the correct way. In view of this, as well as studying grammatical structures and linguistics, we stress the necessity of achieving communicative competence.
Our methods for teaching Spanish courses to foreigners are structured for various levels to meet the requirements of the European Common Framework. Our goal is to give students the strategies and necessary know-how to cope in a Spanish environment by being able to communicate.
Encouraging teens to learn Spanish and making it easy for them is one of the biggest gifts we can give them. It’s a fact that knowing more than one language opens plenty of doors, not only work-wise, but also socially, mentally and culturally. Some benefits of learning a language at an early age are better linguistic skills (ever heard of children referred to as “sponges”?), higher academic achievement and cognitive benefits such as enhanced creativity, better critical thinking and problem solving skills, among others.

I took my DELE language exams here and was so impressed by the friendliness of all the people working in the academy, both the administrative and teaching staff. Calm, welcoming and smiling. The whole school is clean, bright, and well maintained, and I saw several students taking the exams who had obviously studied there, and who were welcomed by name by their teachers. A language school in Denia is an excellent choice for learning Spanish. I have been studying at this school since last year and am very pleased: professional and energetic teachers, interesting lessons. The school is located in the center of the beautiful city of Denia and occupies an entire building. Sometimes in the summer we practiced on the roof, which was wonderful. Air conditioning works well in the classrooms in summer, which is important for hot days. Excellent modern equipment helps you master the language. The classes are not boring and very intensive. Our wonderful study group is at an exciting stage in our language journey, already 22 weeks into intensive Spanish learning and our passion and progress is noticeable. One day, I didn’t have enough space in my class, where I regularly studied, because two girls from England suddenly wanted to study in an adult group. One lesson I sat in a chair in the middle of the classroom; during the second lesson they found us a larger audience. Here issues are resolved quickly. Calm, only calm and everything for studying❤️!
The school creates good conditions and we are all real hard workers: we support each other, exchange knowledge and are always ready to help when someone faces a difficulty.

Hello ! I took the intensive 30 course for 2 weeks via educational leave and the course was worth it for me. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The classes are mixed so that almost everyone has the same level and the groups are kept small. The TLC Denia also offers activities after class to get to know the language and culture better. You can easily reach the school by bus, bike and car as the school is located almost directly in the city. Denia also offers a lot to combine a language course and a relaxing holiday.
