D*NA Gastronomic Festival
The D*NA Gastronomic Festival is the major culinary event in Dénia and one of the most eagerly awaited in the whole of the Valencian Community. It will be held on 27 and 28 September 2025 on the Marineta Cassiana promenade, facing the sea, turning the coastline into a showcase for Mediterranean flavours. The festival brings together renowned chefs, local producers, wineries and artisans who share their expertise through show cooking, tastings and workshops open to the public.
This year, the festival has a very special character: it is 10 years since Dénia was named a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO, so this edition will include extra activities and a celebration of the local culture linked to cuisine. More than 700 metres of gastronomic stands, sensory spaces and live music make D*NA an unmissable experience for foodies and curious travellers.
All Saints' Fair (Funfair)
From 18 October to 3 November 2025, the Torrecremada esplanade will host the traditional All Saints’ Fair, a very popular event for both locals and visitors. For more than two weeks, Dénia is filled with colour and a festive atmosphere with some 40 attractions for all ages, shooting galleries, raffles, game booths, churros stands and typical fairground sweets.
In addition, there are special days such as the so-called ‘Children’s Days’ (18th, 22nd, 24th October and 3rd November), when admission to many attractions is reduced. With its vibrant atmosphere and mix of tradition and fun, it is a perfect plan for families and groups of friends in autumn.
Ojos Rojos International Photography Festival
In November, Dénia and Xàbia become photography capitals with the Ojos Rojos International Festival, a cultural event that has been gaining prestige in recent years. Its venues include squares, libraries and cultural spaces in both towns, where contemporary, documentary and artistic photography exhibitions are organised.
In addition to the exhibitions, the festival offers screenings, talks with renowned photographers, workshops and a photography market complemented by musical performances. Each edition usually has a guest country, and in 2025 it will be Colombia, which will bring an international focus and a very attractive visual richness. It is an essential event for art lovers, but also for those who want to discover new perspectives on the world through photography.
Dénia Spoon Festival
When cooler days arrive, spoon dishes take centre stage in Dénia. During autumn, the Jornadas de Cuchara (Spoon Days) are celebrated, which will reach their tenth edition in 2025. For several weeks, numerous restaurants in the city offer special menus featuring traditional stews, broths and soups from the Marina Alta region.
These days are an ideal opportunity to sample traditional recipes made with local seasonal produce, such as rice stew, olleta, suquet de peix or minxo. In addition, they are often accompanied by innovative dishes that reinterpret the classics. This event is designed both for locals who want to reconnect with traditional cuisine and for visitors who want to discover the most authentic gastronomic riches of the area.
Riurau Market (Jesús Pobre)
Every Sunday in autumn, from 9am to 2pm (except the first Sunday of the month), the Mercat del Riurau transforms Jesús Pobre into a showcase for local products and traditional cuisine. Under the arches of the historic riurau, you’ll find seasonal fruit and vegetables, homemade bread and pastries, oil, wine, crafts and freshly baked traditional cocas. The atmosphere is relaxed, with live music or cultural activities on some Sundays, and on the first Sunday of the month it is replaced by a very popular antique market. It’s the perfect plan to combine with a stroll through this charming village and discover the rural essence of the Marina Alta in autumn. This market is not held in Dénia, so it is recommended to use public transport or a private vehicle.
Afternoon gatherings, concerts and various cultural activities
The autumn agenda includes one-off events such as afternoon gatherings, concerts in small venues, outdoor yoga classes, and cultural activities combining music, gastronomy and art. These activities are ideal for those who want to blend in with the local rhythm and discover less touristy but very authentic corners of the city.
