Denia is an enchanting and friendly town situated on the Mediterranean coast between the cities of Alicante and Valencia. Among the many benefits of this area we would like to highlight the 322 sunny days a year and an average temperature of 18º C or 65º F. The town has a resident population of approximately 44,500 inhabitants. Although during the summer months many more people, of all nationalities, come to enjoy this sunny area.
Denia has 20 kilometres of coast. To the north, fine sandy beaches; to the south rocky, precipitous beaches, such as Las Rotas Beach, which has many small coves and areas of great beauty. Every year these beaches are awarded the European Union blue flag, which is only given to clean and well equipped beaches.
This area evokes previous times and cultures which remind us that Dénia has been ruled by the Moors, Romans, Carthaginians and Iberians. As proof of the constant passing of civilizations we now enjoy the examples of architecture which have been left, the best of which is the magnificent castle overlooking the town.
